Anahata chakra - loving and accepting ourselves for who we are.

Anahata chakra is the energy centre that is located at our heart space and is translated from Sanskrit as “unhurt”. It’s about self-worth and loving ourselves for who we are.

Am I enough?
Am I worthy of love and affection?
Can I accept myself not despite my imperfections but rather because of them?

On a physical level, this chakra is related to the upper back, chest, arms and shoulders. The organs of the Anahata chakra are the heart and lungs.

Do you carry any tension in those areas?
Can you love and accept yourself without having to perform, succeed, compare and be perfect?

Self-worth is the sign of heart chakra being in balance. It’s when we do not need to earn love and affection but rather can accept our innate perfection.

It’s when we feel safe to accept and receive and it’s about safety around being loved and cherished. It’s when we love unconditionally and fearlessly.

A very simple and by far my favourite healing writing exercise for Anahata chakra is to make a list of 100 things we love ourselves for. Get a piece of paper and just start writing. There will be a point where you’ll get stuck and from there onwards magic will start happening!

In my chakra classes, through yoga poses, breathwork and visualisations, we work with Anahata by embracing imperfection and discovering self-worth.

Join my Wednesday Restorive Yoga class with focus on Manipura. You can either book it as a Live class on May 20th at 7 PM or as a Replay thereafter.
